We have a new housemate. I was feeling a little homesick a couple of weeks ago and begged my mom to come visit. She said yes. On one condition...we take "The Pig." Enter Meemo. I guess that's how you spell it, like Nemo but with an M. But that spells memo so...Meemo it is.
This guinea pig has bebopped her way into our home and, dare I say it?, our hearts. My stepsister got Meemo when she was 13 and, in all honesty, it stunk up her room for a couple of years. At some point in time she (The Pig) went to live with my stepsister's brother but made her way back to my mom's house several months ago. Minus quite a bit of her fur. On her backside. If you look closely at the next picture you can see where she's "rogaining" it back.
So now she's starting to stink up our little house. Not as bad as I would have expected, but not quite a Tyler candle either.
All in all, it was well worth the visit with my mom. We ate and shopped and decorated to our hearts' content. We drove into the city to hit several thrift stores and happened upon the motherload. We drove into a parking lot and could barely find a spot and then when we got inside it was crazy packed and there were no carts left. I was ready to turn around when my mom discovered what the buzz was all about...they were having a back to school sale and everything was a dollar. That's right, $1!!! So we jumped right into all that craziness and had quite the pile of goodies by the time we left. I was looking for dance outfits for Little Miss M and came away with several leotards and tutus as well as a Halloween costume and several pieces for school. And a lamp for her room. My mom bought a bag full of Barbie clothes. She weeded through it for all the vintage Ken and Barbie outfits (looks somebody was inspired by Toy Story 3!) but then Little Miss M got all the rest!
We drove over to Pop's for lunch because my mom had never been and then we spent the evening decluttering my office/craft room and putting the almost final touches in M's room. I'll take some pictures in the very near future and share. The biggest hurdle left is wiring her colorful gypsy chandelier.
I've got another garage sale in the works this weekend and then methinks my house will return to its slightly less cluttered normalcy. And perhaps I will return to my slightly less scatter brained ways. And, if I so desire, I will be able to do a handstand against the wall that has been the dumping ground for all things destined for garage sale goodness.
