Frustration

My third (yes, THIRD) point and shoot camera seems to have bitten the dust. What is it about me that causes it? It turns on and the lens zooms out but I can't push any of the buttons or even turn it off unless I remove the battery. Alas. And, sadly, I still haven't learned how to use my new DSLR.
